Urban Paradise is a new organization in Long Beach that is currently working to heal the Long Beach Public Main Library rooftop gardens. Our current project involves creating a California native and drought resistant garden in a designated plot on the side of the main library with hopes of convincing the city to re-open the rooftop gardens as a public native plant and art sanctuary by and for the community of Long Beach. This is a city project that requires human hands and hearts!

Hello all,
I hope the groundbreaking went well! I am a relatively new LB resident (6 months have flown by) and I am happy to see people working for positive change downtown. My wife and I walk to the library fairly often, but would certainly enjoy going there more if there was somewhere nice to hang out and read. Maybe a literary garden of some kind? AWESOME! Anyway, best of luck to you. Perhaps I will make it to a meeting one of these days...
I red on the downtown gazette that you are planing to grow medicinal vegetation, I'm interested in growing this type of vegetation in my own garden but don't know where to buy seeds, do you know any vendor?
